Why people call Kevin back
Rated 4.2 across 106 Google reviews
82 of those reviews are five stars. People who had us out years ago call the same number when the next tree gets too big.
Big trees come down under control
A hollow laurel oak over a roof does not get dropped. The limbs go out on ropes and down to the ground where we want them.
We work in tight spots between houses
Most Pinellas lots leave a few feet between a wall and a fence. That is the job, and we set up for it instead of asking you to move a fence.
The yard gets raked before we leave
Branches go on the truck, the roof and the drive get blown off, and the lawn gets raked. One review says we "removed all branches, hosed my rooftop clean, raked my yard of any debris."
Kevin or Dale writes the quote
The person who looks at your tree is the person who runs the crew on it. Nothing gets sold by somebody who never sees the yard.
Oak firewood and free mulch from the yard
The wood does not go to waste. Oak gets split for firewood at the shop, chips go out as free mulch, and good trunks get milled into live edge slabs.
How a job actually runs
Call the shop or send the address with a photo of what you want looked at.
We walk the yard with you, check the access and the drop zone, and give you a price.
The crew ropes the limbs out, cuts the trunk down to a low stump, and keeps the truck off your lawn.
Everything gets loaded, the stump gets ground if you want it gone, and the grass gets raked.

Trees by Kevin did a great removing an old oak tree from my back yard. After receiving more 6 quotes we decided to go with trees by Kevin because from the start they provided us with great customer service. Dale came out to give us our quote explained everything in detailed and exactly how they would do it.
Kevin and team took down 3 large oak trees from our house and our daughter’s house. They did a fantastic job and their clean up was amazing. It was a 3 day job and afterwards, we were able to run our sprinklers-not a single head was broken at either house. They are very professional and great to work with.
Last week we had a full, two-day tree pruning and tree cutting job performed by Trees by Kevin M. Dyer. We observed hours and hours of the crew's work skills and work ethics. This company's crew was amazing. Each crew member was courteous, pleasant to communicate with, and worked steadily and quickly.
Such a great company! We had Kevin remove a palm tree and trim some other trees for us 10 years ago. The crew was great then. We just had them remove a large oak that was too close to the house. They are still great now! Kevin came out to give us a quote on Saturday and removed the tree the following Wednesday. The crew was amazing!
Trees by Kevin Dyer is one of the most professional and safety minded companies I have ever had on my property. His crew took down a 40 ft dying tree in St Pete. They communicated effectively their arrival and followed up the day before. They showed up early and did not stop until the job was complete. His crew is very respectful.
I have been purchasing firewood from these guys for two years and they have always provided excellent quality OAK firewood at a very fair price . This year was no exception. Thank you Dale Jr. for being an upfront and honest business person. When I decide to trim my huge Oak in the front yard, I will be giving you a call.
We take trees down safely
It depends on the size of the tree and what sits under it. A big oak over a pool cage costs more than the same oak in an open yard. Kevin or Dale comes out, looks at it, and gives you a price before anything starts.
Yes. Stump grinding is a separate machine and a separate line on the estimate, so you can take it or leave it. Most people grind it, because a stump left in sandy soil sinks and turns into a soft hole in the lawn.
Most of it leaves on our truck. Oak gets split for firewood at the shop, and the chips go out as free mulch. If a trunk is straight and wide, we mill it into live edge slabs.
Yes. We rake the yard and blow the drive before we pull out. Christine Austin wrote that we "removed all branches, hosed my rooftop clean, raked my yard of any debris."
Usually yes. We rope the limbs down instead of dropping them, and we lay plywood so the truck does not rut the lawn. Where there is truly no room, we tell you at the estimate.
Yes, and the time to do it is before June. A thinned crown lets wind pass through instead of pushing the whole tree over. Laurel oaks with two trunks growing tight together are the ones that split, so those get looked at first.
